Kwe! Teluisi Ethan, aq ni’n wetapeksi Maupeltu.

Hello! I’m Ethan. and I’m from Membertou First Nation.

Sakai City, Japan – Kakehashi Project Young Leaders 2023

About me

I am a proud member of Membertou First Nation, with deep roots in Unama’kik. Growing up on our ancestral lands, I developed a profound connection to my Mi’kmaw heritage and culture.

Currently, I am on a journey of learning and giving back. I am pursuing Mi’kmaw Early Childhood Education at Nova Scotia Community College, where I am gaining the skills to make a difference in the lives of our young ones.

By day, I work at the Membertou Heritage Park, dedicated to preserving our cultural treasures and sharing our vibrant history with the world.

My passion extends beyond my professional work. I am a firm believer in the power of community and have dedicated my time and efforts to various organizations. Whether serving on youth councils or committees for Membertou First Nation, Cuso International, Students On Ice, or Good Neighbors Canada, my heart is set on sustainability and education. I also founded the Membertou Youth Network, creating youth programming in my community.
